3 Arrested Over Street Robbery in Kahului

Maui police arrested three suspects following a report involving an alleged robbery at gunpoint early Monday morning in Kahului.
Wilsand Sardinha, Anthony Ayonayon and Aaralyn Decambra were arrested on first-degree robbery and were being held in lieu of $20,000 bail each.
According to police reports, the victim told police that he was confronted by the three individuals at around 1 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2014, near the intersection of Amala Place and Hobron Avenue.
According to police reports, one of the male passengers, later identified as Sardinha, exited the vehicle and confronted the victim at the location, while the other two individuals, later identified as Ayonayon and Decambra, remained within the vehicle.
Having had past issues with Sardinha, the victim told police he left on foot, but was followed by Sardinha, who allegedly pointed a handgun at the victim’s head and demanded his belongings.
According to police reports Sardinha got into the vehicle with the other two individuals and fled with the victim’s belongings on Amala Place.
Police later made a traffic stop of the vehicle in the area of Haleakalā Highway and Hāna Highway, and found all three suspects within.
The Maui News reports that police recovered a replica pellet gun during the incident.
