A staffing shortage will result in the early closure of the Molokaʻi Landfill today, Saturday, May 24, 2014.
The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management Solid Waste Division announced that the facility will close at 12:30 p.m. today.
Department officials say the closure is necessary so the county can maintain safe operations and meet the minimum state Department of Health operating requirements of the landfill’s solid waste permit.
Department officials apologized for the inconvenience.
