June 3 is Last Day for Candidate Filing

Individuals seeking election this year to state, county and federal offices in Hawaiʻi are advised that the candidate filing deadline is next Tuesday, June 3, at 4:30 p.m.

The state office of elections recommends that candidates gather more than the minimum number of signatures for the office that they are seeking, and that the last day of filing will likely include a lengthy wait.

The 2014 Elections feature 105 contests statewide.

The primary is scheduled for August 9, with early voting beginning on July 28.

The Office of the County Clerk on Maui is accepting candidate filing for federal, state and county elective offices at the Elections Division office located on the 7th floor of the county building in Wailuku.  Hours are 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.  Staff from the office can be reached by calling (808) 270-7749.
