Friday night, June 27, Maui Brewing Company in Lahaina wants you to order up a cold one for a dog in need.

From 6 to 10 p.m., half of all profits from house beers sold will be donated to Maui Pitbull Rescue, an organization dedicated to saving dogs on ‘death row’ and adopting them out.

According to their website, “Maui Pitbull Rescue (MPR) is the only no-kill pitbull rescue shelter in the state of Hawaii.

“It is MPR’s mission to rescue, rehabilitate and find forever homes for unwanted, abused, and neglected pitbulls. Some of MPR’s rescues have come from breeders who abandon lower performing dogs, deformed puppies, bait dogs that have been dumped by dog fighters, injured and lost hunting dogs.”

In addition, MPR works closely with the Humane Society, SPCA, local breeders, hunting clubs, veterinarians, and other animal rescue groups.

If you can’t make it tomorrow, Maui Brewing Company will be holding a second fundraising event on Friday, December 26. If you can’t make it to either event and/or don’t drink, you can contact MPR directly to find out about adoption or to make a donation.
