Crews from the Maui Department of Water Supply are currently working to repair a 12-inch main line break at the intersection of Kaʻahumanu and Puʻunēnē Avenues in Kahului.
Department officials said that as of 5:30 a.m., the Maui Mall, Maui Clinic and Bank of Hawaiʻi had no water; however, crews were installing a bypass to get water to the locations while the break is being fixed.
The department estimates the fix to be complete in about six hours at around 11:30 a.m.
Motorists are advised to drive with caution in the area. Department officials say traffic on Kaʻahumanu Avenue will be affected in both directions and motorists can expect delays.
