To celebrate the start of the Ka’anapali Fresh and Hawaii Food and Wine Festivals, the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa is presenting a special beer dinner with Japengo and Maui Brewing Co.

The dinner, held this Wednesday, August 27, offers four courses and five local beers.

The meal kicks off with a welcome drink of Haleakala Sunryes Rye i.P.A.

Then, the first course brings an oxtail potsticker with bacon, Hamakua mushrooms and plum wine–ginger jus with Lahaina Town Brown American Brown Ale.

Next up is a seared ahi summer roll made with Bigeye ahi, green papaya, cilantro, yellow bell pepper, rice paper and Hawaiian chili pepper sauce. It is paired with Pau Hana Pilsner, a Czech-style pilsner.

After a Maui Gold pineapple sorbetto intermezzo, the third course brings Valhalla Wheat Wine-braised beef short rib. Accompanied by Stilton cheese, risotto, tatsoi, and Maui onion tempura, the dish is served with a Valhalla wheat wine dessert.

For dessert, enjoy Tengu Ka’anapali Pie.

Made with brownie crust, banana, macadamia nut ice cream, whipped cream, caramel, chocolate and peanut butter cookie crumbs, the pie is paired with Imperial Coconut Porter.

The dinner starts at 6 p.m. and  is hosted by Japengo at the Hyatt Regency Maui.

Priced at $65 per person – exclusive of gratuity and tax – reservations are recommended.

Japengo is located at 200 Nohea Kai Drive in Lahaina.
