Emergency Preparedness Training will be conducted by the County of Maui this Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at the Kalana o Maui Building, located at 200 South High Street in Wailuku.

The exercise will be conducted one floor at a time for approximately 90 minutes on each floor.

County officials say training will be conducted on the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 6th floors. During the training period, each affected floor will be closed to the public as follows:

  • 8:30 to 10 a.m.: 1st floor (IT and Civil Defense offices)
  • 10 to 11:30 a.m.: 6th floor (IT offices, Department of Personnel Services and the Treasury Division of the Department of Finance)
  • 12:30 to 2 p.m.: 4th floor (Department of Public Works)
  • 2 to 3:30 p.m.: 3rd floor (Department of the Corporation Counsel)

The training is part of a nationally accredited program being conducted by the Maui Police Department, and includes a 30 minute safety briefing and class followed by two drills with de-briefing meetings, according to the County announcement.
