Record Rainfall Set at Kahului Airport on Monday

A record amount of rainfall was set in Kahului on Monday, according to new data released by the National Weather Service.
Although slight at just 0.62 inches, the agency reports that the rainfall amount breaks the old record of 0.37 inches recorded for the same day 22 years ago in 1992.
Today’s NWS forecast for Kahului calls for sunny skies with highs near 89 degrees, a heat index as high as 95 degrees, and north winds blowing at 5 to 10 mph.
