The University of Hawaiʻi Maui College’s Music Club hosts the second edition of its Open Mic Night this Thursday, Sept. 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the student lounge.
The family-friendly event is free and open to the public.
Performers of all talents and ages are invited to sing, play an instrument, act, dance, do hula, or perform slam poetry, magic tricks, stand-up comedy or karaoke.
“So many open mics are just for music, held late at night and are not for families,” said Karyn Sarring, faculty advisor to the Music Club in an event announcement.
“At the last open mic we had over 200 people come with their families. We want to showcase all the different talents in our community,” she said.
Admission and refreshments are free.
Other upcoming UHMC Open Mic events are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 23 and Thursday, Nov. 20. Both shows will include performances by the UHMC Chorus.
