Maui police are investigating a report of an attempted kidnapping in the Pukalani area last week.

Police say a 10-year-old boy reported that an unknown adult male grabbed his arm while he was walking at around 2:10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014.

According to police, the man reportedly told the boy, “come here,” but the boy was able to break free from the man’s grip and run away.

Police responded and canvased the area, however, were unable to locate a suspect, according to Maui Police Sergeant Audra Sellers.

The case remains under investigation by the Maui Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division.

A description of the man was not available at last report.
