The Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset will host a mayoral forum featuring incumbent Alan Arakawa, and challenger Tamara Paltin on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014.

The event begins with a social starting at 5 p.m., and the candidate forum beginning at 5:35 p.m. at the Royal Lahaina Resort Ocean Terrace in Kāʻanapali.

Co-presidents Liz May and Jim Fahenstock will serve as moderators for the event which includes five-minute opening statements, and three minutes to respond to questions.

Event organizers say questions are confidential, but will touch on topics that include reef damage from injection wells, wasteful spending, and specifics on their future goals.

Club representatives say the organization’s first forum attracted the attendance of more than 60 people.
