Maui police have launched an attempted murder investigation following the stabbing of a 64-year-old Lahaina woman.

The incident was reported at 9:04 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014.

Maui police have since arrested Jackobs Khoi Duong Duy, 26, of Lahaina on suspicion of second degree attempted murder.  Police say Duy remains in custody, but has not been formally charged as of Sunday morning, Oct. 5.

The female victim was transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
