Game Bird Hunting Season Begins on Maui

The 2014-2015 game bird hunting season begins on Maui today (Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014) and continues through Monday, Jan. 19, 2015.

Officials with the state Department of Land and Natural Resources released information saying biologists are predicting an average bird hunting season as drought conditions ease across the state.

Legal hunting is scheduled to take place on privately owned lands on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as on state holidays.

Hunting is permitted with landowner permission, and should be conducted in accordance with state rules – as found in Title 13, Chapter 122.

Hunters must have a valid hunting license, and will be required to check in and out at respective check stations.
