All polling places in District 4 will be open on Election Day, despite contingency plans made in preparation for the advance of the June 27 lava flow in Pāhoa.

Chief Election Officer Scott Nago said voters assigned to the Pāhoa Community Center (precinct 04-03) will still have the option to vote at Hawaiian Paradise Park Community Center (precinct 04-01).

Department of Education facilities that were closed due to the lava flow will still serve as polling places on Election Day.  These schools include Keonepoko Elementary School and Pāhoa High and Intermediate School.

Polls are open at 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. across the state. Anyone in line at 6 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Voters are reminded to bring proof of identification and can check on their polling place ahead of time by using the polling place locator on the state office of elections website.

While polls are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., shorter lines are traditionally observed during non-peak hours between 9:30 and 11 a.m., or 1 to 4 p.m.
