By Wendy Osher
Inauguration events take place on Monday, Dec. 1, for Governor-Elect David Ige who assumes his new office next week.
The Monday event will take place at the state capitol rotunda. Pre-event festivities begin at 10:15 a.m., with the program set to conclude at around 12:30 p.m.
Later in the week, Ige and Lt. Governor Shan Tsutsui celebrate their new administration with an Inauguration celebration at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center entitled “Honoring the Past, Charting a New Tomorrow.”
The $75 per ticket event includes dinner, remarks, and entertainment.
Ige has already announced the appointment of former Hawaiʻi Tourism Association executive Mike McCartney as his Chief of Staff; and Ford Fuchigami is being appointed to return to his previous role as Director of the State of Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation.
