The Maui Friends of the Library will host two used book sales this weekend in Makawao and Kahului.

The “Books for a Buck” event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Makawao Library; and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7, at Whole Foods Market in Kahului.

The sale includes pre-loved books of all kinds, from fiction & non-fiction, to kids & adult selections, starting at just one dollar.

All proceeds benefit Maui’s public libraries.  As a bonus, each child will be able to take home a free children’s book while supplies last.

The all-volunteer Maui Friends of the Library organization sells used books, DVDs and CDs throughout the year.

Funding raised goes towards programs, library materials and equipment.
