At approximately 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, the Olowalu siren malfunctioned, sending an audible tone, County officials said.

Civil Defense authorities on Maui say there is no emergency.

The department apologized for the inconvenience and crews are currently looking into the cause of the system malfunction.
