Maui Humane Society Offers Reward for Stolen Dog
By Maui Now Staff
The Maui Humane Society is offering a $250 reward for the safe return of a dog–one of two that were stolen from the facility earlier this week.
Pebbles is described as an 11 month old spayed female that is a white, brown and black heeler mix. Humane Society officials say she walks with a limp on her right side and was scheduled to fly to the mainland to a rescue this past Thursday.
The other dog, a heeler mix also known as Dog#39, was found earlier today wandering a Kula neighborhood.
That dog was originally picked up as a stray with an injured leg. Organization officials say officers responded to the call and returned the dog to the shelter where he will get x-rays and treatment for his injury.
According to the Maui Humane Society, the two dogs were stolen from the facility’s kennels between 9 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14, and 7 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 15, 2014.
Anyone with information on the case, or the whereabouts of Pebbles is asked to call the Humane Enforcement Department at (808) 877-3680, ext. 211.
