Manele Bay and Boat Harbor

The Maui Police Department reported that on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, Sandra Jordan, age 65, of Sidney, British Colombia, died while she was on a snorkeling within Lāna‘i’s Manele Boat Harbor.

At about 10:20 a.m., while on a boat trip with family, Jordan was observed in distress while snorkeling. She was assisted back to the boat, but became unresponsive. Upon being pulled onto the boat, crew members initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Medics and fire personnel met the boat at the Manele Boat Harbor docks on Lāna‘i and took over life saving measures. Jordan was transported to the Lāna‘i Community Hospital. Despite life-saving measures, Jordan died.
