MauiGrown Coffee recently received the Starbucks CAFÉ (Coffee and Farmer Equity Practices) certification, passing the evaluation with flying colors.

The CAFÉ program was initiated by Starbucks Coffee to evaluate, recognize and reward high-quality, sustainably grown coffees purchased by the company.  The certification aims to uphold social, environmental and economic standards at participating coffee farms.

“MauiGrown Coffee is excited to be accepted into this elite club of coffee farmers and producers,” said Kimo Falconer, president of MauiGrown Coffee. “Starbucks has made a true commitment to ensuring the ethical sourcing of coffee and we are excited to be recognized by this responsible certification program.”

MauiGrown has been supplying Starbucks with its signature Maui Mokka at select store locations nationwide since the fall of 2012. The blend was chosen to be included in the esteemed Starbucks Reserve Coffee product line. Starbucks says it screens thousands of coffees from around the globe, selecting only the most exceptional varieties for its reserve line.
