The Maui Arts & Cultural Center will be presenting Eric Bibb, a rare and outstanding blues musician and songwriter at the Castle Theater on Thursday, Feb. 12, at 7:30 p.m. He will be accompanied by Michael Jerome Browne on mandolin, banjo and guitar.
Bibb is described as one of the most imaginative modern blues musicians of his time, bringing a gentle yet passionate sound to the stage that carries an enriching experience, both musically and spiritually. His style melds the rootsy sound of traditional Americana with the soulful authenticity of blues, enriched by a contemporary feel.
Bibb’s music has been nominated for a Grammy and numerous other music awards. His music has found wide success in Europe. As the son of singer and actor Leon Bibb (Broadway, NBC television), nephew of John Lewis (Modern Jazz Quartet, and the godson of Paul Robeson (“Showboat”), music runs in his blood.
