Gas Prices Continue to Decline on Maui
Gas prices have continued to decline over the last week in Hawai‘i, with some areas slowing in price drops and others pausing.
The AAA Hawai‘i Weekend Gas Watch reported that on Maui, Wailuku’s average is $3.10 per gallon, dropping 11 cents from last week and declining 52 cents from last month. Compared with the same date last year, gas has fallen by $1.15 on Maui.
Statewide, the current average price for gas is $3.02 per gallon, which is two cents lower than last week and 38 cents less than last month. Prices have fallen by $1.02 per gallon compared with costs one year ago.
“For the most part, motorists here continued to enjoy more savings at the pump again this week,” said AAA Hawai‘i General Manager Liane Sumida. “But average gas prices on the Mainland for the majority of states have gone up for the past three weeks and only Idaho and Montana remain under $2 a gallon.
