The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management announced that due to a staffing shortage, the Hāna Landfill in East Maui will close at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015.
County officials say the closure is necessary for the department to ensure safe operations and meet the minimum State Department of Health operating requirements of the County’s solid waste permit.
Representatives with the Solid Waste Division apologized for the inconvenience.
