The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management announced that due to a staff shortage, the Hāna Landfill will close at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18, 2015.

County officials say the closure is necessary for the department to ensure safe operations and meet the minimum State Department of Health operating requirements of the county’s solid waste permit.
