According to department reports, the woman was hiking with two other friends on a trail leading to the Hāna Lighthouse, when she slipped and fell about 15 feet onto rocks at the water’s edge.

The incident was reported at 12:26 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2015.

Maui Fire Captain Edward Taomoto said the woman was treated at the scene by paramedics, and then taken to the Hāna Ball park where a medevac helicopter transported her to the hospital.
