Maui native Matt Meola has been making a name for himself in the world of aerial surfing.

He recently released a new surf video (“Home”) on Vimeo. The creators simply describe it as “Matt Meola surfing at home on Maui. This edit features the first ever landed spindle flip 540. Enjoy!”

Matt is one of the worlds best aerial surfers. In 2011, he won Taylor Steele’s online video contest, Innersection, which launched his surfing career and made him a household name. A couple of weeks ago, he landed the first ever “Spindle Flip 540” which is featured in “Home” – the move has the surfing world talking and praising the local professional surfer.
