North: Wave heights thigh high or less expected today. Trade swell magnets could get waist to chest high waves or more (Hana side).
West: Waist/head high waves expected today.
South: Chest/shoulder high waves are expected today.
Our current south-southwest gradually fades over the rest of the week.
A slightly smaller south-southwest swell is expected to fill in Thursday, peak Friday before beginning to fade.
Small and relatively short-period northwest swells are forecasted to continue throughout the week, with a slightly larger northwest expected next weekend.
Hurricane Andres in the far East Pacific has generated a long period east swell that is forecasted to persist into next weekend. Initial swells are expected to be small, but the swell is forecast to grow to the point that an advisory may be needed for east facing shores before next weekend.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
