Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, Maui Brewing Company, Southern Wine and Spirits, Ocean Vodka, Maui Stone Craft Beverages and Cigar Bar Hawaiʻi are hosting the third annual Maui Craft Session on Aug. 8, 2015, at 6 p.m. at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa’s Ocean Lawn.

Celebrating the spirits, beers and cigars craft industries and the culinary arts, the event will spotlight the Polynesian Voyaging Society’s Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage and highlight the sharing of cultural traditions around the world and working together to improve the health of our oceans and environment.

The Polynesian Voyaging Society was founded in 1973 on a legacy of Pacific Ocean exploration, seeking to perpetuate the art and science of traditional Polynesian voyaging and the spirit of exploration through experiential educational programs that inspire students and their communities to respect and care for themselves, one other, and their natural and cultural environments. The Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage sponsored by Hawaiian Airlines will cover over 60,000 nautical miles and 27 countries through June 2017.

“This year’s event will allow connoisseurs and aficionados to connect on a deeper level to the cicerones, and master distillers, as well as master navigators of Hōkūleʻa and Hikianalia,” said Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa Executive Assistant Manager Brian Hunnings. The journey and mixing of cultures and techniques have left such a distinctive mark on the styles of brews and spirits available today. The evening will also feature a culinary throw down of some of Maui’s top culinary talents.”
