The Maui Department of Parks and Recreation’s Central Maui District will be closing the 12 campground areas at Kanahā Beach Park in Central Maui for cleaning and repairs starting on Monday, June 8, 2014.  County officials say they anticipate reopening the area on Wednesday, June 24, 2015.

Work includes delineating tent locations; installing BBQ grills; trimming trees; repairing and painting picnic tables; general cleaning of the area; pressure washing concrete pads and walkways; cleaning parking areas in the campgrounds; posting signs; and setting portable toilets.

Department representatives apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the public for their understanding.
