It is Mālama Maui Nui’s mission to engage and empower the people of Maui County to preserve the beauty of the islands.

“The spirit of laulima is present in everything we do, bringing together individuals, community groups, businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies to address the various challenges threatening the health of our environment,” said John P. de Jesus of Mālama Maui Nui.

“Everyone has something to contribute and we are extremely fortunate to have partners in the community like Flatbread that value environmental stewardship and offer these fundraising opportunities to support our work,” he said.

Mālama Maui Nui is currently raising funds for a much-needed office technology upgrade that will improve operation and program efficiencies for the entire organization. Once the new equipment is in place, organization representatives say the new infrastructure will provide “immense benefits in cost effectiveness,” and in the adaptability and resilience of the organization’s operating and reporting systems.

“It will also allow for an unprecedented ability to collect and organize a variety of data and share images, video, and geospatial information that will better demonstrate the results of Mālama Maui Nui’s work and its positive impacts on the environment and Maui County community,” organization representatives said.
