United Airlines experienced computer problems nationwide, then a briefer problem at the Honolulu Airport this morning, which caused some temporary delays for outbound flights from Hawai‘i.

According to Hawai‘i Tourism Authority President and CEO George D. Szigeti, there may be additional delays for visitors arriving to Hawai‘i via United flights from the US Mainland and international destinations.

“While United’s systems are up and running,” Szigeti said, “we advise visitors who are traveling today to check the status of their flight prior to leaving for the airport.

As posted on United’s website, the airline is waiving change fees and any differences in fares departing between July 8 and 10, 2015.
