Wondering what to do this weekend? Maui Now has compiled a chronological listing of some of the island’s best events scheduled from Thursday through Sunday, July 9 through 12.

Friday, July 10

Virtuoso-PianistsGuitar Virtuosos to Perform Free Concert at UHMC
Following the success of last year’s successful free concert, guitar virtuosos will return to the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College ʻIke Leʻa auditorium on Friday, July 10, at 3 p.m. to spotlight opportunities to study music and inspire the next generation of musicians.

Mantokuji O-Bon Festival Slated for July 10 & 11
Mantokuji Soto Zen Mission • Pāʻia
The Mantokuji Soto Zen Mission O-Bon Festival services will begin at 6 p.m. in the temple. Food booths will open at 6:30 p.m. Taiko performances by Maui Taiko on July 10 and Zenshin Daiko on July 11 will begin at 7 p.m. A Bon dance will follow on both nights from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Boursier-Mougenot Exhibit Opens at Schaefer Gallery
The MACC • Schaefer International Gallery • Through July 18
A sound installation by French artist and composer Céleste Boursier-Mougenot is on exhibit. Boursier-Mougenot creates intriguing works that explore the potential of common objects as a means to compose music in a given space. Schaefer International Gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and before Castle Theater shows and during intermissions.
