Firefighters from Lahaina quickly contained a brush fire behind the Lahaina Aquatic Center yesterday afternoon.  The fire was reported at 5:44 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2015.

According to department reports, the incident was initially called in as a fire to storage containers behind the aquatic center on Shaw Street.

When firefighters arrived on scene, it was discovered that the fire was actually burning in an area of brush approximately 20-by-30-feet located behind the Lahaina Aquatic Center, said Acting Maui Fire Department Public Information Officer, Captain Rylan Yatsushiro.
