Maui Police to Use Maui High School for Active Shooter Training, July 27
By Maui Now Staff
The Maui Police Department will conduct an Active Shooter Training exercise at the Maui High School campus on Monday, July 27, 2015 from 8 to 11 a.m.
The public is advised that police will be in full gear and will have several of their emergency response vehicles parked at the school during the exercise.
The training will include simulated gunfire and shouting.
A letter from the State Department of Education advises that if you see anything posted on social media (people wondering what is going on at Maui High School) please be advised that this is an approved exercise.
“It is intended to help our faculty and staff address and deal with high stress type of situations, so we can better support the safety (of) our students in school,” the letter stated.
