Maui Business Brainstormers’ free, monthly “Business in the Think Tank” meeting in Central Maui is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug.  11; the West Maui meeting will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 26. Both meetings start at 11:45 a.m. and end at 1:30 p.m.

“If you need to find out if you are on the right track with your idea about a business or need  to hear third-party opinion about something you want to do in your business, the BiTT meetings can help you through a collective discussion on one’s business case presented,” said MBB organizer Grace Fun.

In the last month meetings,  the business cases ranged from hamburgers, consulting services, public speaking and lecturing, to lei, woodcarving and increasing the usage of a free social media tool.

“There are many good ideas generated in every meeting because of the variety of people and professional backgrounds with a lot to share and sincere desire to help their fellow business person,” said Fung.  “Attendees always find every session inviting and a valuable resource for feedback and suggestions about specific topics or problems.”

A BiTT meeting is structured—but not overly formal—so creative energies work freely in a safe setting as entrepreneurs are encouraged to share their ideas.

“Everyone’s ideas are welcomed; there is never a bad one,” added Fung. “As result, the ideas exchanged can make you realize that there are more ways to do things better in your business.”

As every entrepreneur often experiences situations that require fast and effective communication  about their business to others, the attendees also have the opportunity to practice their messages at each meeting—as if they were in a fast-paced business environment.

“MBB BiTT brings people and their businesses together and continues growing, instilling and distilling with zest the collective thinking at each meeting,” said Fung.

MBB BiTT began in February 2012 in Central Maui; in West Maui in August 2014. An Upcountry BiTT is in the pipeline.
