Qualified Residents Should Submit Circuit Breaker Application

All homeowners eligible for the Circuit Breaker Tax Credit must apply for it before the end of the year, Dec. 31, 2015, a Department of Finance’s Real Property Tax Division announced today.
The Circuit Breaker Tax Credit is available to residents who own and occupy their property as their principal residence with a homeowner exemption and whose real property taxes exceed two percent of their adjusted gross income. Homeowners must file an application to apply for this credit.

Applications may also be picked up from the Real Property Tax Division Collections Office in the Maui Mall, at 70 East Ka‘ahumanu Ave., Ste. A-18, next to the Division of Motor Vehicles and Licensing. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; the office is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and county holidays.
