MAPA LIVE will present EVITA, starring Amy Hānaiali‘i Gilliom, during two weekends—Aug. 21–23 and 28–30, at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

Hawai’i’s top-selling female vocalist of all time, Gilliom returns to her roots in musical theatre to perform the title role in this iconic rock musical.

From the company that brought recent smash hits Les Misérables and Miss Saigon, MAPA LIVE presents this passionate and unforgettable story of Argentina’s most beloved and controversial figure.

Blessed with charisma and driven by ambition, Eva Peron was a starlet at 22, the president’s mistress at 24, first lady at 27 and dead at 33.

The compelling score by Andrew Lloyd Webber features some of theater’s best-loved and most beautiful songs, including Don’t Cry for Me Argentina.

With a cast of more than 60 performers backed by a live orchestra, this monumental production promises to be the biggest theatrical event of the year.

Director David C. Johnston’s discussion about the production can be found online.
