Clayton Chun Selected as Alexander & Baldwin Controller

Alexander & Baldwin Inc. has selected Clayton Chun as the company’s corporate controller.
He will be responsible for accounting, internal controls and financial reporting for A&B.
Chun will report to Paul K. Ito, A&B’s senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer.
Chun most recently was an audit senior manager at Deloitte & Touche LLP in Los Angeles, where he worked for 15 years before relocating to Hawai‘i to join A&B.
At Deloitte, Chun was responsible for managing complex integrated audit engagements ranging from start-ups to multinational Fortune 500 companies, as well as other service functions that increased profitability, supported growth and managed risk.
“We are very pleased to welcome Clayton to A&B and look forward to his leadership of A&B’s controllership function,” Ito said. “Clayton’s management skills and considerable experience and knowledge in technical accounting matters and Securities and Exchange Commission reporting requirements will further serve to enhance the company’s internal control environment and accounting and financial reporting processes to ensure A&B’s continued compliance with US generally accepted accounting principles, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and SEC rules and regulations.”
Chun is a certified public accountant. Raised in Hawai‘i, he earned a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Southern California and a bachelor of arts and sciences degree in economics from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
