Resiliance Is The New Sustainability Michael KramerWhat would it be like if your financial investments—large or small—aligned perfectly with your values? What if you could use your investment to support your local community and preserve Hawai‘i’s environmental and cultural health while earning dividends from these investments?

The Sustainable Living Institute of Maui is hosting a free, public presentation called “Resilience is the New Sustainability,” by Michael Kramer on Dec. 1, from 4 to 6 p.m., at UH Maui College, in room 225 in the Laulima Building.

Kramer recently co-authored the book, The Resilient Investor: A Plan for Your Life, Not Just Your Money. The book promises to be “a dynamic framework that will help you navigate the stormy times we’re living in.”

Kramer calls himself “a long-time sustainability champion in the state, having founded HI Impact (which spawned ProtoHUB Honolulu), the Kuleana Green Business Program (and its five annual conferences), the Think Local Buy Local initiative, and the state Sustainable Business Corporation designation statute, as well as serving on the boards of the Hawai‘i Alliance for a Local Economy and the Sustainability Association of Hawai‘i.”

The Resilient Investor expands the definition of investing beyond money to include personal and tangible assets, becoming a life-planning book for anyone regardless of their economic situation.

Kramer is seeking discussion on the possibilities for values-driven personal investment.
