Advisory Extended, NW Swells for Weekend

A Small Craft Advisory is posted for all Maui County waters through 6 p.m. Sunday for northeast winds up to 30 knots and rough seas up to 18 feet.
A High Surf Advisory is in effect for the east facing shores of Maui and Molokai through Sunday at 6 p.m. Surf heights of 7 to 10 foot faces are expected.

North: Wave heights are expected to be knee high or less for breaks open to the fading northwest swell. Trade swell continues for Hana area and spots open to trade swell with wave heights head high to even overhead on the sets.
West: Wave heights knee/waist high are expected today out of the south-southwest. Spots shadowed by other islands will be pretty flat.
South: The south-southwest is expected to bring knee/waist high waves today. Breaks open to the trade swell could get up to head high or bigger on the sets.
An advisory level east-northeast trade swell will continue to affect windward coasts through the weekend.
Our current south-southwest continues to trend down today.
Our current northwest swell is expected to peak Friday. A second swell overlaps and shows for the weekend. A slightly larger northwest swell is expected to build midweek but be rather short-lived.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
