A 60-year-old man was transported to the hospital following a single-vehicle accident on Kehalani Village Drive within the Kehalani Village Shopping Center in Wailuku.

The incident was reported at around 10:43 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, according to Maui Fire Captain Paul Haake.

Crews from the Wailuku Fire Station arrived on scene to find the vehicle had run onto the median divider of the road located between the Kehalani Foodland and Longs Drugs store.

Fire officials say the lone occupant, who has no local address, was within the vehicle and was complaining of neck and back pains.  He was stabilized and transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center via ambulance.

Authorities say his injuries were not life-threatening.  The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
