North: Wave heights are expected to be double to triple overhead today.
West: Wave heights about waist/head high today with the best breaks getting up to overhead on the sets. Spots farther to the south are much smaller.
South: Wave heights under knee high today. Spots shadowed by other islands will be flat.
Our current west-northwest swell is expected to continue fading today. This swell will shift to a more northwesterly direction today but still bring good size to Maui County’s best exposures. Friday swell trends more north-northwest.
Our current south-southwest is down to traces today.
Trade swell is rebuilding for the second half of the week as winds pick up in strength.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
