Alerts

A High Surf Advisory is posted for the east facing shores of Molokai and Maui through 6 a.m. Saturday. Surf is expected to be 6 to 9 feet.

A Small Craft Advisory is posted for all Maui County windward waters and channels through 6 a.m. Saturday for winds up to 25 knots and seas up to 12 feet.

North: Wave heights are expected to be chest/head high today with the best breaks pulling in waves a couple feet overhead on the sets.

West: Wave heights under shoulder high today. Spots not catching the swell are much smaller.

South: Wave heights under waist high today. Spots shadowed by other islands will be flat.

Our current south-southwest is down to traces today.

Trade swell continues Saturday and will drop off as winds begin to subside this weekend.

Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
