Maui Road Work: Dec. 12-18, 2015
The state Department of Transportation has announced several lane closures in effect on roadways in Maui County between Saturday, Dec. 12, and next Friday, Dec. 18, 2015.
All projects and lane closure schedules are weather permitting and may change without further notice.
Below is a list of state projects impacting traffic this coming week:
Old Haleakalā Highway, Kahului
Night and weekend roadway construction is planned along the Old Haleakalā Highway in Kahului, with 24-hour lane shifts scheduled in both directions between Aʻalele Street and Kala Road on Friday, Dec. 11, through Friday, Dec. 18. Motorists are advised to follow all traffic control signs and drive with caution through the work zone. Flaggers will be stationed at the site to direct motorists through the area.
Hāna Highway, Haʻikū
Roadway improvements are planned along the Hāna Highway in Haʻikū. Transportation officials say the work will result in a round-the-clock lane closure of the left lane of the highway in the eastbound direction between the Garden of Eden Arboretum and Keʻanae Road. Working hours are Monday, Dec. 14, through Friday, Dec. 18, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Honoapiʻilani Highway, Wailuku
Underground utility maintenance is planned along the Honoapiʻilani Highway in Wailuku. The work will result in a lane closure of the highway in the northbound direction between Kuikahi Drive and Kehalani Makai Parkway from Monday, Dec. 14, through Friday, Dec. 18, between 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Kaʻahumanu Avenue, Kahului
Road repairs are planned along Kaʻahumanu Avenue in Kahului. The work will result in lane closures in both directions between Kahului Beach Road and Wakea Avenue on Monday night, Dec. 14, through Friday morning, Dec. 18, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., nightly.
Kuikahi Drive, Wailuku
Underground utility repairs will result in the turn pocket closure on westbound Kuikahi Drive to Honoapiʻilani Highway in the northbound direction on Monday, Dec. 14, through Friday, Dec. 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.
