Maui Crime, Dec. 6–12: Burglaries, Break-Ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 18 burglaries, three vehicle thefts, and 13 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period, between Dec. 6 to 12, 2015.

Of the three vehicle thefts, one of the vehicles has since been recovered.  The incidents were reported in Kahului, Nāpili and Kaunakakai.

Burglary incidents were down from the 20 incidents reported the week before. The greatest number of burglaries reported were in Kahului where six incidents were reported over seven days.

Vehicle break-ins dropped off to 13 for the week, down from 15 the week before.  The greatest number was in Kahului where six incidents were reported.

Hāna:

• Thursday, Dec. 10, 9:30 a.m.:  47200 block of Hāna Hwy, residential, unlawful entry.

Kāʻanapali:

• Monday, Dec. 7, 8:05 a.m.:  130 Kai Malina Pkwy at the Honua Kai Resort & Spa, residential, unlawful entry.

Kahului:

• Sunday, Dec. 6, 3:14 p.m.: 200 block of Niʻihau Street, residential, forced entry.
• Sunday, Dec. 6, 4:10 p.m.:  200 block of Niʻihau St., residential, forced entry.
