Due to insufficient manpower, the Hāna Landfill will close at 1 p.m. Jan. 7 and 8.
The closures are necessary for the department to ensure safe operations and meet the minimum state Department of Health
operating requirements of the county’s solid waste permit.
With a soon-to-be filled equipment operator position approved by the County Council, landfill closures are expected to be reduced.
The Solid Waste Division apologizes for the inconvenience.
