Kīhei Brush Fire Burns in Vacant Lot

Wailea firefighters responded to a report of a small brush fire located near the Kīhei Regency Apartments in South Maui on Sunday night, Jan. 17, 2016.
The incident was reported at 9:26 p.m. at 2441 South Kīhei Road.
Firefighters arrived on scene at 9:34 p.m. to find a 10 x 20 foot area of brush burning within a vacant lot to the north side of the apartment complex. Fire officials say crews had the fire under control in four minutes and called it extinguished at 9:51 p.m.
The cause of the brush fire was undetermined. No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.
