UPDATE: Vehicle Located in Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident

Maui police have since identified a pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run collision on Dairy Road on Friday night.
Police say the man, who had no local address, was Adam Shane Riley, from Oceanside, California. The man’s identity was released today after positive identification and notification of next of kin.
Maui police are still looking for information relating to the accident and describe the vehicle involved in the crash as a midsize pickup which sustained front end damage and a broken driver side headlight. Police say the vehicle fled the area, continuing north on Dairy Road.
According to new information released by the Maui Police Department, the pickup truck is described as a gray, lifted, single cab 4-wheel drive Toyota pickup truck, model year 1984-1988 with wide tires and aftermarket rims. Police say the truck was being operated by an adult male.
The incident was reported at around 9:24 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15, 2016 on Dairy Road fronting the Maui Marketplace, and 115 feet south of Ohekani Street.
According to police reports, the collision occurred as the pickup truck, traveling north on Dairy Road, collided into Riley, who was crossing westbound on Dairy Road.
Police say Riley was not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision and was transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical, life-threatening condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
