Maui Surf Forecast
North: Wave heights are 15 to 20 feet for the best exposed shores in the morning. In the afternoon 20 to 25 foot faces are expected with 30 foot sets from time to time. The top spots could get even bigger.
West: Some wrap from a west-northwest swell builds today up to waist/head high in the afternoon.
South: Wave heights are knee/thigh high today out of the south-southwest.
The current warning level west-northwest swell will continue to affect north and west facing shorelines, although a fading trend will be in effect Tuesday. Another warning level northwest swell is expected to arrive Tuesday night, peak late Wednesday and Wednesday night, then lower slowly Thursday and Friday.
There will also be a series of small, mainly background south swells through the week.
Easterly trade wind swells will remain rather low for the next several days.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
