A conference dedicated to the unification of the wedding and technology industries will be held at the Royal Lahaina Resort on Feb. 22 and 23, 2016.

More than 350 attendees from all related business segments will meet to explore new ways to access the $300 billion, world-wide wedding industry.

Two days of panels and hands-on workshops will feature 30 speakers and four moderators, covering topics such as video marketing, building startup businesses dedicated to weddings, generating publicity and news coverage for online companies, online food and beverage trends, and digital event planning.

The focus for these sessions will be to evaluate the future of weddings and the opportunities to build out businesses using technology.

“The WedTech Summit is where wedding professionals, hospitality and travel companies, investors, tech startups and other businesses convene in the wedding capital of the Pacific,” said the event’s co-founder, Sean Michael Hower. “We are uniquely dedicated to creating a networking environment for building referral partnerships and strategic alliances among peers—whether they are established brands or startups—bringing together the combined power of the wedding aisle, Silicon Valley and Madison Avenue.

“Weddings are a very traditional industry and it’s one of the last to adapt to technology,” Hower continued. “However, especially considering the needs and practices of millennials getting married today, all companies vying for a piece of the enormous wedding cake must have an online presence to remain competitive and to grow. This is an evolution in the wedding industry that has been a long time in coming, but it’s still in its infancy. Our intent is to take it to the next level.”
